Hello World! It’s been a while. I have a lot of things I want to write about but reality got in the way. I’ve taken on a more challenging role at my day job and the blog suffered. However, the desire to write about breastfeeding and help fellow breastfeeding mothers is still there and is calling out. So here I am trying to blog again. Anyway, if you have specific questions you want to be answered, shoot me an email – latch[dot]jenny[at]gmail[dot]com and I will do my best to answer. Please note also that I may choose to publish the query and reply in my blog – anonymously unless the writer prefers to be identified. Continue reading
Sorry, sorry… life has caught up with me! I really haven’t been blogging much as I’ve been focusing on my day job, kids, Mama.Baby.Love and replying to email/text questions of breastfeeding/babywearing/cloth diapering moms. I’m cleaning out my draft posts (yes, I have numerous!!) and I found this post which I initially wrote as a comment to another page. I can’t remember if this comment was published — yes it has been that long! So I decided to edit it a publish it in my blog.
Hooray! We qualified for the 2014 Great Cloth Diaper Change Guinness attempt. This year’s event was held at the Blue Leaf Events Pavilion and would not have been successful if not for our partnership with 2 mommy groups – N@W and MCNP.
Thanks to Benz of N@W, we were able to secure a wonderful venue – Blue Leaf’s Jade Pavilion! Incidentally, this Sunday, the Blue Leaf will be hosting “The Big Banquet” – a food-tasting event by the top caterers of Metro Manila. Click here for tickets.

Benz was also able to get sponsors for photos (Imagine Nation), set-up and decoration (4th Wall) and food (Josiah’s). Because height measurement was a must for babies, 4th Wall set up this height guide so parents can easily check if their babies fall within the height requirement.

Our lovely backdrop, courtesy of 4th Wall, was used as the photo corner. Before and after the 11 o’clock change, families and babies could have their portraits taken thanks to Imagine Nation Photography.

Of course, what event will be complete without loot bags! We had shirts for the babies to be changed printed by Arts and Prints. We also had commemorative wooden utensils sets thanks to Kubyertos Collection!
|88 participants qualified!|
Who would’ve thought that we would be able to pull off this event with volunteer organizers? Thanks to my fellow volunteers — it was a pleasure to work with you!
Together with Next9, TickledMoms and parenting communities N@W and MCNP, we will be joining the Great Cloth Diaper Change on 26 April 2014 and attempt to break the Guinness world record of most cloth diapers changed!
If you are interested to join, please fill in the form below. Some reminders – your child must be 39 inches or 99 centimetres in height or below and must be changed into a cloth diaper. Please note that cloth trainers are excluded. There is a fee of P150 pesos which includes the GCDC Kit — the kit has a commemorative shirt that can only obtained through the GCDC event.
We will also be having a cloth diaper drive that day. If you have usable cloth diapers that you’d like to share with babies in children’s homes, please bring them and drop them off in the big box beside the registration table.
If you are not in Metro Manila and still want to join the festivities, you can do so online! Add the GCDC Philippines Picbadge to your profile picture!

Posting this for Arugaan:
Last Dec 2013 and Jan 2014, Arugaan with 29 BESTeam (Breastfeeding Experts Support Team) went to 10 municipalities/city in Leyte/Samar areas badly devastated by typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan. We have covered more than 6,000 mothers-babies/young children in more than 200 barangays. We did breastfeeding counseling, breastfeeding empowerment, mother-baby friendly tents, hot meals for the mothers and young children, etc etc.
This April 1-15, 2014, Arugaan will travel again to these Leyte/Samar areas in the continuing rebuilding efforts. This time we will be having cooking lessons, nutritional classes, setting-up of creches/daycares and most especially creating of mother support groups.
We wish that some kind-hearted individuals can donated pots, pans, sandok, knives to give to the mothers attending the cooking lessons. Some tents/makeshift homes we visited only had 1 kaldero coz all their stuffs were washed out. Old and used kitchenware will be highly appreciated, new ones will be accepted too. We will be accepting all donations and pledges until March 28 (Friday).
Drop-off points will be in Ortigas Center, City of Manila, Quezon City and Marikina City.
Please fill up this form so Arugaan can properly acknowledge donations:
